Our positions are seasonal and part-time, making it a great opportunity for high school and college students, parents, retirees, and teachers!​

Job Categories:

Activities

Activity Rotators oversee attractions like our Jumping Pillow, Mini Ziplines, Mountain Slides, and Pedal Karts. Activity Rotators need to be comfortable interacting with guests (particularly children) and answering questions, providing instruction, and keeping an eye out for safety.

Apple Cannons

Our Apple Cannons staff are in charge of operating our famous Apple Cannons. They charge guests for their apples and instruct them on how to use the cannon. Skills required are running a register and counting money. We look for friendly employees who are friendly, comfortable interacting with guests, and who will communicate effectively when supplies are needed. They also must keep an eye out for safety.

Barrel Train

Our Barrel Train is a smaller version of the hayride for young kids. It pulls them around in small carts on a gravel path. Barrel Train Drivers need to be friendly, comfortable interacting with guests (particularly children) and answering questions, providing instruction, and keeping an eye out for safety. They also need to have prior experience driving and operating a tractor.

Concessions

Our Concessions area requires a variety of skills including food preparation and handling, running a register, and counting money. We look for friendly employees who are self-motivated and can jump into action to help. We value employees who have an attention to detail, who can take direction from a supervisor, and who can cooperate with others and work as a team. Candidates for this position must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Dishwasher

The purpose of this position is to ensure that our kitchen staff is able to leave in a timely manner at the end of the night. They help maintain a clean kitchen, and they properly wash & sanitize dishes and food prep materials. Dishwashers may also prep food as needed throughout the shift. They must also keep the dish area organized and free of clutter. We look for employees who are self-motivated and eager to help.

Farm Host

Our Farm Host is stationed outside of our Market/Ticket Building to interact with guests and answer questions and concerns. They also check for stickers on pumpkins as guests exit the farm to make sure they are paid for (like a “receipt checker” at Costco). They also open and close the gate for our hayride. A Farm host needs to have great customer service skills, a friendly & outgoing personality, and must be comfortable asking guests to show proof of purchase. We look for employees who are comfortable with making conversation and who are knowledgeable about our farm & our events.

Kettle Corn Maker

Our Kettle Corn Makers are responsible for making and stocking different areas with our fresh Kettle and Caramel Corn. We look for employees who are self-motivated and process driven, with a strong focus on production & efficiency in order to keep up with demand. Kettle corn makers also need to be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to lift 50 lbs.

Maintenance

Maintenance staff have responsibilities such as setting up and maintaining stations through the farm, lighting campfires, wiping down tables, and running supplies. Maintenance staff are essential in helping the farm open and close each day, and are the go-to when items need to be replaced or fixed. Maintenance staff need to be familiar with the farm and its attractions, and also be friendly towards guests. Maintenance staff also need to be able to be on their feet and walking for long periods of time.

Market

Our Market is often the last stop for our guests. Working in our Market requires good customer service skills, an interest in selling, a friendly & outgoing personality, the ability to run a register and count money, and being able to work in a fast-paced environment to keep a line moving. We look for employees who are comfortable with making conversation with guests and who are comfortable using technology for our register system.

Nut Hut

Our Nut Hut is a new location this year and is responsible for making our fresh roasted nuts and peanut butter. Skills required are food preparation, running a register, and counting money. We look for friendly employees who are self-motivated and process driven, who can think ahead about what needs to be done, and who can handle working in a fast-paced environment.

Patch/Field

Our Patch staff work out in our U-Pick fields, assisting guests with cutters, buckets, and checking out their items. Patch employees need good customer service skills, a friendly & outgoing personality, and the ability to run a register and count money. 

Runner

Runners are responsible for gathering supplies and delivering them to each station. They are also expected to be able to count money and deliver change. Runners need to be familiar with the farm, be able to follow a checklist, and be able to stick to a rotation.

Sweet Shack

Our Sweet Shack sells fresh apple cider donuts, kettle corn, caramel apple nachos, hot drinks as well as soft serve ice cream & handmade milkshakes. Skills required are the ability to prepare soft serve ice cream, running a register, and counting money. We look for friendly employees who are self-motivated and process driven, who can think ahead about what needs to be done, and who can handle working in a fast-paced environment. Experience operating an ice cream machine is required. Potential Sweet Shack employees are required to attend additional training on ice cream at our sister store, Gateway Candyland, during the summer/early fall before the farm season begins.

Ticket Building

Our Ticket Building staff are the first employees to interact with a guest and are the go-to staff for questions and concerns. Employees in the Ticket Building need to have great customer service skills, a friendly & outgoing personality, the ability to run a register and count money, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment to keep a line moving. We look for employees who are comfortable using technology for our ticketing system and who are quick learners in order to answer guest’s questions.

Tractor/Hay Wagon Driver

Our Hay Wagon Drivers are the most important in providing a good experience for guests riding our hayrides. Hay Wagon Drivers need to be friendly and knowledgeable about our farm and our crops. They also need to have prior experience driving and operating a tractor.

Trash

Trash staff are responsible for emptying and bagging trash cans throughout the farm, picking up and gathering trash left on the ground, and presenting a well-maintained venue. Trash staff need to be familiar with the farm and trash locations, and also be friendly towards guests. Trash staff also need to be able to be on their feet and walking for long periods of time.
